What is the McGill Method?
The McGill Method was developed by world renowned spine expert Professor Stuart McGill, with over 32 years of scientific research on the lumbar spine. His laboratory and experimental research clinic investigated issues related to the causal mechanisms of back pain, how to rehabilitate back-pained people and enhance both injury resilience and performance.
At PPI, the McGill Method is prioritized as we aim to help you understand what triggers your back pain, give you tools to improve your movement capacity, and keep you resilient moving forward.
About the McGill Method Assessment
The Interview
The 3-hour assessment starts with a detailed history of your back troubles. We aim to understand not only your back troubles, but also potential injury mechanisms and pain triggers.
The Assessment
All back pain has a specific cause. We will test specific movements, postures, and loads to identify your back pain triggers and tolerance.
Your Program
Assessment findings will guide the appropriate recommendations for you to be able to do at home, the gym, and with on-going guidance if preferred.
Our goal is to give you the tools to get back on track!
